Three years old. What a game changer. Let me tell you, threenager is a real thing and it’s much more intense than the terrible twos. I enjoy how my daughter knows what she wants and goes for it, but it can backfire sometimes when it’s not to your favour.
Since she turned two she was wildly obsessed with Peppa Pig, and how could you not? Peppa Pig is precocious, witty, and ferociously entertaining. For Mackenzie’s rites of passage to her threenager years, we decided to throw a fun Peppa Pig party at a local play place which featured bouncy castles, slides, and cars. Not quite Potato City but we are close.
To the first baby I’ve ever loved, Happy 3rd birthday Mackenzie. I love you with so much. The world is your oyster, now go get your pearl!
The party was held in the morning when kids were energetic and fresh for the day. We served a lot of healthy kids favourite eats including banana loaf, popcorn, fruit, rice crackers, and a meat and cheese platter. It was a nice selection for the kids to fuel up from their play.
We kept decorations minimal as I only had 15 minutes to decor the place. We used Peppa Pig balloons from Party City, Peppa Pig banner which I made and a paper crepe backdrop for the cake table. I surprised Mackenzie with the Peppa Pig family plush characters, she has been asking for them for an entire month. I found them off a website called Wish. Shipping takes forever so ensure you plan at least 4-6 weeks for delivery.
Kids in attendance ranged from 6 months to 5 years old, so it was tough finding party favours that would suit all ages. I was also wary that not every child enjoyed Peppa Pig as much as Mackenzie so I opted for a theme-free party favour.
For kids 12 months and under, I gave Munchkin Bath Letters and Numbers with Love Child Fruit Pouches and Biscuits. For the older kids, their goody bags included Melissa & Doug Mess Free Glitter and a bubbles.
I loved how clean up was nil and entertainment was taken care of. There wasn’t much time to chat with other parents and guests were often scattered everywhere but for the kids, they had a memorable time, and I guess that’s all that matters.
