Ruffles and bubblies (champagne) made a come comeback at the 82nd Academy Awards. Celebrites wore dresses from  fit and flare dresses to flowy chiffon dresses that seemingly floated across the red carpet.  It wasn’t about extravagance or drama this year, but elegance, individuality, and dress silhouettes.

My top favourites.

Elizabeth Banks’ Versace periwinkle gown. I absolutely loved the ruffles and as she strolled on stage, the skirt swayed and showed off her mile-long legs.

Demi Moore’s Atelier Versace Gown which was very similar to Elizabeth Banks’ dress won my heart. I loved the colour against her skin and the hair that matched her outfit made her flawless.

Academy Award nominee Carey Mulligan rocked her pixie blonde hair. Tonight at the Academy Awards, she donned a beautiful black Prada gown was adorned rocker-inspired accessories. Besides her stunning reatures, all eyes were on her stunning chandalier earrings which completed the outfit. High points for individuality.

Though I wished Miley Cyrus had better posture tonight,  Miley no longer looked like the cute teenie-bopper we once recognized in Hannah Montana. She was transformed in her champagne gown.  Designed by British designer Jenny Packham, the corset and tulle combination offered elegance and youthfulness, which was perfect for Miley. Oh, and the earrings!

I loved the architecture in Jennifer Lopez’s Armani Privé gown. The soft lavander hue looked amazing on her olive dewy skin. Perhaps, it was the way she carried herself. She definitely wore the dress that night.

Cameron Diaz ushered in the Awards in pure old Hollywood glamour. She looked amazing in the champagne coloured glitterati gown by Oscar de la Renta.  Loved the 60s coiffed hair that went with it.

Oh Marchesa, how I have adored your work from afar. Infamous for her ruffles and architectural design, Marchesa did not disappoint with the fuschia gown on Oscar nominee Vera Farmiga who wore it with elegance and class.  The colour was extraordinary, and so was the way the ruffles swindled around her body.

Diane Kruger never disappoints fashion. She pulled off a beautiful Chanel cream gown accented with black. To accent her Chanel gown, she pinned a Chanel black and white diamond “Camelia Nervure” brooch to complete the outfit.

Subdued elegance played a part in Anna Kendrick’s Ellie Saab soft pastel gown. The lace, draping, loose curls was the perfect mix. She definitely knew how to make looking glamourous an effortless feat!
